Another month comes to a close and that means it’s Foodie Pen Pal reveal day!!! It’s been several months since I joined the Foodie Pen Pal program and I love it. Each month it’s always a wonderful surprise when the package comes in the mail and I get to open it not knowing what is in store. I’ve found some wonderful friends as well which is the best part!
For my Foodie Pen Pal this month I was selected to receive a package from Jeremy over at Stellar Path and I sent a package to Megan at Wanna Be A Country Cleaver. (Check out their blogs to see what goodies they received!)
Putting together the packages are a lot of fun themselves but it is nice to receive one as well.
Jeremy put together a box with some good items! At first glance I see the Reese’s and my taste buds immediately go into overdrive. My weakness is anything with peanut butter and chocolate. I am happy to say that I received this package mid-month and half of the Reese’s are still in my fridge. I’ve rationed them for sure!
The note from Jeremy was awesome because he wrote out what he bought and why he thought that was a good pick for my box. I always love a handwritten note. Very nice!
How appropriate that the Foodie Pen Pal reveal day would be on National Pancake Day and I received blueberry syrup in my box! Wow, that Jeremy is a smart cookie. I’m sure he planned it that way! 🙂 Thanks, Jeremy! If I was smart I would have had pancakes for dinner but, alas, it’ll have to wait until our next waffle/pancake breakfast!
Lastly, Jeremy included some interesting peanuts and a rum cake. We opened the peanuts right away and dug into them. They were a little spicy which we consider to be a good thing and the taste was interesting. We have been munching on these after dinner.
The rum cake though – I just don’t know if I can do it. 🙂 It’s awesome and it looks good from the outside but there was this one time where I drank waaaaaaay too much rum and from then on I haven’t been able to touch rum. I think I’ll serve it to my family and see if it smells like rum. If not, I’ll go for it but if it does then I’m out. Even the word “rum” brings flashbacks of an evening that I spent face down on my (future) in-laws front lawn.
Always classy…. that’s me.
It was a wonderful Foodie Pen Pal package this month! Thanks so much Jeremy and I hope that Megan from Wanna Be A Country Cleaver is enjoying her food. 🙂 Check out what she received from me!
