Geez – I honestly didn’t mean to go MIA or anything. I had a bit of a setback (total transparency here) but I’m regaining control and moving forward.
I’ve been kind of busy since I last wrote. I haven’t been working out but I haven’t gone completely out of control with regards to my food. So, that’s something, right?
I have been trying to get back into doing things that I love to do. Things that I haven’t made time for in many years. At the top of that list is scrapbooking. I simply adore scrapbooking & making cards but I honestly haven’t made the time to do it. Until last weekend, that is. I sat down and created two pages. What do you think?
We’ve also been working with Alexis and getting her ready to take her driving test this week. Eep! Not long now! She has a test scheduled for Friday. Cross your fingers for her!
Thanksgiving was wonderful. It was a 4 day stretch of no-work and 100% family time. That is my idea of a great time! That’s how I anticipate retirement to be. Ha ha. Sounds heavenly. We got a ton of stuff done over the weekend too. Thanksgiving feast, Black Friday shopping, family dinner and random errands and finally the annual purchasing of the Christmas Tree!
We spent all day yesterday shopping for it, pulling decorations down from the attic and decorating our tree. We ended up with a gorgeous tree – and we hung all of our ornaments on it together.
Also over the weekend I got my Fit Bit in the mail! I had been eyeing them for awhile and I was going to ask for it for Christmas but I decided that what better time than the present to get it? So, I splurged on myself. I don’t regret it one single bit! I’m completely in love with it and love the data that it keeps giving me.
If you aren’t familiar with the Fit Bit it’s basically a device that you wear 24 hours a day that monitors your activity, steps taken, sleep patterns and calories burned (both while working out and by every day activities). It reports to you at the end of the day the level of activity that you have had and how active you have been that day. By using this information you can work to be more active and, of course, lose weight! It’s pretty awesome. Everyone should buy one. Seriously. 🙂
What did I eat today?:
Exercise: 30 minutes on the exercise bike and 10 minutes of stretching.
Hope there are still people out there reading. 🙂
